    Seasonality Plot
    This is a plot of the growth of traded volume in the FTSE futures contracts over time. The circular plot brings out the seasonality in the trading volumes, along with a general increase over the past 25 years. Time flows in an anticlockwise pattern around the circle - with January at the 3 o’clock position, April at 12 o’clock, July at 9 o’clock and October at 6 o’clock. Radius is traded volume, and the spiral tends to move outwards from 1985 at the centre to now at the edge.
